MJGray Photography
As a photographer, I have a deep commitment to the creation and processing of the final product. Capturing the image as envisioned through the viewfinder and rendering the desired artistic reflection of that vision is my goal, and my greatest joy is in achieving that end.
Simply said, this is not just a "passion". It is a life long love that I have been so very privileged to share with others.
Thank you for stopping by the web today. My name is Mary Johnson Gray. I am an uprooted Arizona native now retired from portrait and commercial photography at my studio in Allen, Texas. While my studies at Arizona State University involved majoring in commercial art and painting, my primary interests were medium format cameras and film photography. In 1996 I returned to those roots.
In 2005, I took a digital camera on a business trip to London, which was my first use of the digital format. The film versus digital battle raised many questions for me, but the ability to process images as envisioned when pressing the shutter was undeniable. While primarily digital, the studio continued to produce film based projects. Images created with medium format cameras and B&W film printed on fine art paper or canvas remain personal favorites, and I hope film products and processing will remain available for many years to come.
